PALOMA
Re-elect
DELGADILLO
BROOMFIELD CITY COUNCIL
WARD 2
ABOUT PALOMA
Paloma Delgadillo is seeking re-election as Broomfield Ward 2’s City Councilmember. Paloma is a pragmatic progressive who believes in inclusivity, sustainability, and promoting good governance.
Paloma was appointed to Council in January 2023 and sworn in February 2023. She is passionate about addressing all things big and small to make Broomfield a welcoming and pleasant place to live for all people.
Paloma moved to Broomfield in July 2020 with her then fiancé, now husband. While the choice to move to Broomfield was first born out of practicality, being conveniently located between Boulder and Denver, she soon found her organizing roots here and quickly came to call this place home.
When Paloma is not working or organizing, she enjoys rock climbing with her husband, playing Dungeons & Dragons with her college pals, attempting to read more books than she did last year, and caring for her two beautiful cats.
PHILOSOPHY OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT
While it may not be flashy, the local level is the level of government that is most relevant to people's day to day lives. Paloma believes in doing the small things to make Broomfield a little nicer for everyone. Local government can also be very unifying too. We all want working stop lights, maintained libraries, and enjoyable community events. Even in such a polarized political climate, Paloma believes local government is still a space where we can still hold a nuanced and in depth conversation across various opinions.
POLITICAL AND COMMUNITY ORGANIZING
Paloma is a number cruncher by day and an organizer by night. Shortly after graduating from the University of Chicago in 2015, she began her organizing journey with the Chicago Chapter of the National Organization of Women (NOW). This is the organization where she experienced many firsts like her first time opening for a press conference, her first time speaking on TV, and her first time lobbying elected officials. In Illinois, she also served on the board of the state chapter of NOW and participated in the Obama Foundation's Community Leadership Corp.
Paloma moved to Broomfield in July of 2020 on account of her husband's work. Upon moving she began volunteering with the Northern Colorado Chapter of NOW and also served on NOW's national board as western district representative. She recently had the privilege of learning more about leadership and about Broomfield through the 2021-2022 Broomfield Chamber of Commerce leadership program.
In her capacity as a City Councilmember, Paloma serves on the Local Licensing Authority, Broomfield Building Corporation, Pension Committee, and State Highway Seven Alternate.
